Arsenal ready to offer Mesut Ozil new contact after German's impressive start to the season

Mesut Oezil celebrates after he scored the second goal

The German's contract still has two-and-a-half years to run at the Emirates and looks set to follow Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla in penning new deals
Arsenal are ready to offer Mesut Ozil a new contract.
The Germany World Cup winner’s deal has two years to run from the end of the season. But his form has been so impressive that the club want to keep him at the Emirates until at least 2019.
The 27-year-old was signed from Real Madrid for £42million in August 2013.
But after a season of adaptation and one that followed Germany’s triumph in Brazil, Ozil is now showing the class and consistency that manager Arsene Wenger anticipated he would bring to Arsenal.
Indeed, after one outstanding performance against Everton recently, Wenger said: “I would rather watch him play than talk about him.”
Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla have already signed new contracts this season and the Gunners now want Alexis Sanchez and Ozil to follow suit.
