Arsenal news and transfers: Gunners linked with swap deal for Liverpool star

PLUS: Jackson Martinez reportedly snubs a move to the Emirates to join AC Milan AND Arsenal could consider a swap deal in their bid to sign Raheem Sterling

Martinez agrees to AC Milan move

Porto striker Jackson Martinez is set to join AC Milan, despite interest from Arsenal.
The Colombian has been linked with a move to north London in recent times, after scoring 32 times in all competitions last season.
Milan stole a march with an offer earlier this week and Porto's president has confirmed the deal is set to take place, should Milan meet his £25million release clause.
“Before going on holiday, Jackson announced he wanted to leave. The €35m clause is not up for debate and must be paid. I learned just now that Jackson has chosen Milan.
“This is what he wants, the destination is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. I want him to be happy.”

Double boost for Walcott

Theo Walcott is closing in on a starting place in England's latest Euro 2016 qualifier - and on a new deal at Arsenal.
Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson is ready to make changes for the trip to Slovenia, withforward Walcott set to get his chance in the forward line - replacing Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, who was booed in last weekend's draw with the Republic of Ireland- in Sunday's match.
Walcott, 26, had a strong end to the season after finally getting back in the line-up following a long injury lay-off.

Ozil: We can win the Prem

Mesut Ozil has praised the Arsenal fans for getting behind them - and wants to repay them by winning the Premier League.
Ozil is targeting an improved performance in the domestic league next season, as he believes that the Gunners have enough to go all the way and win their first title since 2004.
The German is also confident that the side can come up trumps in the Champions League.

The Gunners are confident of signing Petr Cech next week.
The Czech stopper will cost Arsenal in the region of £11m.
Jose Mourinho was initially reluctant to sell Cech to a direct rival but he now looks to have allowed the Blues legend to choose his next club.
Arsenal will step up discussions with Chelsea over the next seven days.
