Alexis Sanchez has been given “more motivation” for Wembley after being inspired by Arsenal’s previous FA Cup glories.
Sanchez has revealed the whole squad sat down to watch a film about the club’s FA Cup successes as they have won the trophy 11 times.
There have been some glorious moments including Charlie George’s Wembley winner to complete the Double in 1971 up until last season’s dramatic final against Hull.
It has helped fire up Sanchez for Saturday’s showdown with Aston Villa when Arsenal can write more history by becoming the first club to win the trophy 12 times andArsene Wenger will be the first post-war manager to win it six times.
Chilean superstar Sanchez, in an interview with BT Sport, said: “The FA Cup is a competition with amazing history.
“Today we watched a video about Arsenal’s previous wins and thanks to the clips I trained with even more motivation. I hope we can win the cup so the Arsenal supporters are happy.”
Sanchez, who has become a cult hero with the fans for his tireless work rate and spectacular goals, revealed his motivation for joining Arsenal was a belief they had potential to win major trophies and also because of Arsene Wenger who he describes as a “legend.”
Sanchez added: “The reason why I moved to Arsenal is because there were a group of young players with the ambition to achieve things. I thought that Arsenal was the perfect club for me, the perfect club to win titles and compete in every competition.
“There is a joyful atmosphere in the dressing room. Arsenal is a magnificent club and I hope to win many titles here. I’m going to do my very best to help the club achieve success.
“It has been a positive season but I have still got ambitions to win more. I would like to be closer to winning the Premier League title and get further in the Champions League.
