Rick Owens Sends Pantless Models & Exposed Penises Down The Runway

Rick Owens loves to push the boundaries, and he did just that by sending his male models down the runway totally pantless during Paris Fashion Week. Do you have the balls to embrace Rick Owens’ latest collection?

2014 may have been the year of the booty, but if designer Rick Owens has his way, 2015 will be the year of the peen. It was like a game of penis peek-a-boo during his menswear Fall/Winter 2015 show in Paris on Jan. 22, when about halfway through the show pantless male models came down the catwalk. While not all the looks were as obvious as Winnie The Pooh’s red crop top, tunics and longer cloaks featured cutouts, specifically designed to highlight the male form.

Rick Owens’ Penis Collection — Pantless Models On The Runway During Paris Fashion Week:

It takes a lot to shock the fashion crowd, but Rick Owens did just that — but to be fair, he isn’t alone…the penis is having a moment. After all, we did kick off 2015 with Bieber’s bulging Calvin Klein underwear campaign — and Rihanna was ahead of the trend in 2013 when she sported Vivienne Westwood’s penis clutch. Is the fashion world really ready to embrace the penis?
Are you a fan of the pantless menswear trend?
The designer’s statement is reminiscent of Alexander McQueen’s “Bumster” silhouette from his first collection in 1993, when his pants revealed butt cleavage on the models — and singlehandedly kicked off the low-rise jeans trend that dominated the 90s and early 00s. We’re used to seeing various parts of the female form on the runway, but it isn’t everyday we get a peepshow from the menswear collections.

Is 2015 The Year Of The Penis?

While women can rock bralet tops, plunging dresses and backless and cutout silhouettes, men definitely have way less options when it comes to showing off — and all this penis talk makes me think Saturday Night Live was on to something with their ‘Ball Cleavage’ skit.
Pantless males were typically only popular in cartoons, (we’re looking at you, Donald Duck, Porky Pig and Winnie The Pooh), but would you be cool with a guy embracing the pantless trend? Okay, let’s be realistic here — the chances of you standing next to a guy at the bar who is rocking out with his c*ck out are slim to none. After all, we may see boobs beneath sheer shirts and topless models on the runway season after season, but that still doesn’t mean anyone’s strolling into the office or heading out on a first date with their nips out.
“Nudity is the most simple and primal gesture,” the designer told reporters backstage at his show. “It packs a punch. It’s powerful. It’s a straight world now. It says something about being independent. Who else can really get away with this stuff? It’s a corporate world! This was our private moment.”
Censorship and gender equality are constant issues today, so I definitely appreciate the statement Rick Owens made on the runway — but in real life can we keep the package in the pants?
