The midfielder was caught in the face by Cheikhou Kouyate's right elbow and appeared to be given oxygen before being taken off on a stretcher.
Hospital tests showed no fracture and the 29-year-old will now be closely monitored, the club confirmed.
The Spain international could be fit for Saturday's Premier League game with FA Cup finalists Aston Villa.
