Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola's captivating tactical innovations have the ability to surprise everyone, says chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
The German side remain on course to repeat the 2013 treble of league, German cup and Champions League.
"Pep doesn't just have a plan A, B or C, he has the whole alphabet from top to bottom," said Rummenigge.
But Bayern go into the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Porto missing a host of players.
French winger Franck Ribery has an ankle problem, while midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has been ruled out with flu.
Left-back David Alaba, centre-back Medhi Benatia, midfielder Javi Martinez and winger Arjen Robben are all missing too as Bayern look to preserve an 11-game unbeaten record in Portugal.
A plethora of trophies |
|---|
Porto: 27 league titles, 2 European Cups, 16 Portuguese Cups, 2 Uefa Cup/Europa League
|
Bayern: 24 league titles, 5 European Cups, 17 German Cups, 1 Uefa Cup
|
As well as the chance of reaching their fourth straight Champions League semi-final, the Germans are 10 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, and face rivals Borussia Dortmund in the last four of the German Cup.
Despite the injury issues, Rummenigge feels their Spanish boss can still lead Bayern to success this season.
"The coach is the key to everything," added the former West Germany striker. "At the moment I don't think opposing coaches know what tactics Pep Guardiola is going to use.
"Actually, when I go to the stadium, I sometimes don't know either. Time and time again, I'm totally captivated and positively surprised at all the things that occur to him."
Porto have not lost in the competition this campaign, and are aiming to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2004, when they won the whole tournament under Jose Mourinho.
But their top goal scorer Jackson Martinez, who has netted 26 times this season, is a doubt for the tie.
Coach Julen Lopetegui said: "Playing the quarter-finals of a competition as big as this one is a reward for everyone.
"The only thing on our mind is dream and ambition, there is nothing else to take to that game."
The tie is a repeat of the 1987 European Cup final which the Portuguese side won.
