Thomas Muller 'wants to join Manchester United'

The Germany star was linked with a switch to Old Trafford earlier in the summer and interest could now be revived

Manchester United's interest in Thomas Muller could be revived before the end of the transfer window.

According to reports, the Germany World Cup star – who was linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier in the summer – has now decided that he wants to join Louis van Gaal's side.

United were believed to have had two bids for Muller rejected by Bundesliga giantsBayern Munich, seemingly putting paid to any hope of a deal being done.

But according to the Sunday Express, Muller wants to follow former team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United before the transfer window closes at the start of September.

Muller began the German season in style on Friday night, netting twice as Bayern thrashed Hamburg in Bavaria.

It is unlikely that Bayern would be willing to part with the midfielder without a fight, meaning there could be a tricky set of negotiations in store if United do go back in for Muller.
