Cristiano Ronaldo scores 500th career goal in Real Madrid's Champions League game vs Malmo

Cristiano Ronaldo joined football's 500-goal club with his latest strike for Real Madrid.

The Portuguese forward, who is also closing in on Real Madrid 's all-time goal record, reached the milestone in the Champions League game against Malmo in Sweden.
The 30-year-old had gone three games and 19 days without a goal, drawing blanks against Granada, Athletic Club and Malaga after eight in his previous two matches.
He started in attack for Los Blancos alongside Karim Benzema, with Gareth Bale still absent through injury.
Ronaldo's breakthrough came in the 29th minute when he fired home after a fine pass from Isco.
He celebrated in customary fashion as Real took the lead against the Swedish outfit.
He is now just one goal behind Raul's total of 323 strikes for the Madrid giants. The former Spain striker took 741 games to accumulate his total, whereas Ronaldo has played just 308 times.
