Diego Simeone will want BIG Chelsea changes if he joins as manager in the summer

Atletico Madrid boss tipped to quit next summer is a target but is understood to believe the Blues' squad needs a huge, expensive shake-up
Diego Simeone is ready to move to Chelsea next summer - but will demand big changes are made.
Atletico Madrid boss Simeone is high on the Blues' short-list to succeed Jose Mourinho, who is under increasing pressure during a stuttering title defence that has now seen his champions lose 10 of 19 games in all competitions.
It is understood the 45-year-old’s trusted assistant coach German Burgos has learned English ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.
But former Argentina World Cup midfielder Simeone has grave concerns about Chelsea’s existing squad and their current plight.
He believes they need major investment and wants strong control on transfers.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is still torn over Mourinho’s future, but wants to give him every chance of turning things around before wielding the axe.
Mourinho has now suffered seven defeats in his first 12 Premier League games, but the club’s position is understood not to have changed after the latest setback at Stoke.
However, the stadium ban Mourinho served on Saturday will not have helped his cause as the hierarchy are likely to take a dim view.
Chelsea’s next game is at home to Norwich after the international break and he must be expected to win that.
